Ana Gonzalez-Alvarez MSc is a Public Health doctorate student with an emphasis in behavioral change and social sciences at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has a bachelor’s degree in nutrition from San Carlos University of Guatemala, a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from the University of Barcelona (Spain), a master’s degree in nutrition, dietetics, and sensory sciences from Kansas State University (United States), and a Public Health certification from the same university. She has worked as a clinical nutritionist in the preterm babies’ intensive care unit at Hospital Roosevelt (Guatemala). Also, she has worked as a research assistant on several projects related to food and nutrition and reducing health disparities in Guatemala and Nevada. Recently, she joined the EARN-FS team as a graduate assistant to work in the nurturing care facilitator program. Her research interests include developing and implementing theory-based health behavior change interventions, the effects of nutrition on mental health, prevention of chronic diseases, and improving all forms of malnutrition in low and
middle-income communities.
